How the Process Works
InterControllers starts by working with the client to determine what
information the client needs to manage the business and make informed decisions.
This process starts at the point of first contact:
- Our sales representative collects information about your business. This is
called the Client Data Summary Sheet (CDSS) used for our pricing.
- Attached to this sheet is a non-disclosure statement signed by
InterControllers to assure you confidentiality on sensitive information given
to the sales representative.
- We usually turn a competitive pricing to you within 48 hours.
- If all is acceptable the sales representative will give you our current
references and our outsourcing agreement for your review.
- After contract signing your assigned Account Executive (Controller) will
visit you so that they may perform a implementation survey. We do this in
order to become familiar with your company and your people. Here are some of
the particulars that the Controller looks for:
- Does the client want to gather information on a regional basis, by
business line, or both? Does the client want information about margins? Cash
flow? Aging of customer receivables? Does the client want revenue figures by
product, client, geography, or all three? What are the other important
metrics? And are the client's processes-up-to-date and efficient?
- InterControllers uses the best practices to design business processes that
will capture the necessary information. In any industry, perhaps as much as
80% of the business processes can be considered standard. That means
InterControllers can come to its clients with a proven blueprint for the
majority of their processes. Expertise of that sort enables the
InterControllers to offer not only superior insight and speed of
implementation, but also its proven process methodology.
- The remaining 20% of business processes usually need to be customized.
Again, InterControllers' wide expertise enables it to design processes quickly
and cost effectively, and at the same time, to be best in class.
InterControllers works with its client to design the accounting systems to
make the processes work:
- InterControllers, with the client, utilizes your current accounting
systems, such as, QuickBooks, Peachtree, MAS 90, ACCPAC and all of the Best
Software solutions or any other system that you have in use. It's the
InterControllers’ responsibility to ensure that the data lines and software
are operating 24/7, removing the burden from the client.
Once the processes and the technology are in place, it's time to take a look
at staffing:
- InterControllers provide the Controller, Accountant and processors who
handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger
accounting, fixed assets, preparation of financial statements, and other
processes.
- These individuals usually work at a shared service center, located at our
office. We don't have to be near the client in order to accomplish our
duties.
- All our staff are experienced financial and accounting professionals,
attracted to InterControllers in part because its core competency is in their
area of expertise. The draw here is that outsourcing can lead to better
opportunities for our financial professionals because they can move from the
company's back office to the InterControllers' front office, and they get all
the associated benefits of being a contributor to their company's core focus.
And how do you save? InterControllers may not require as many employees to
handle the future-state accounting functions as the your company employed due to
processing efficiencies, workflow, technology, economies of scale, etc. And
InterControllers can, help the client make the transition process a pleasant one
for both client and the staff.
